Ira Leesfield's thirty-nine years in practice have been devoted to service in the cause of justice in Miami, in Florida as well as in the entire nation.
Legal talents and accomplishments aside, Ira Leesfield's devotion to the betterment of others and his longstanding generosity to offer his hand in support of countless charities have defined an exemplar career.

HELPING hand
Since the early 1970's, Ira Leesfield has stepped into the local, statewide, and national legal community with one accomplishment after another. The biggest accomplishments however have been Ira Leesfields dedication to charities and humanitarian causes. His determination, generosity and forthrightness have consistently aimed at helping others and making a difference.
Ira Leesfield dedicates a large share of his time and resources to making contributions to help the less fortunate among us. The Leesfield Family Foundation makes regular donations to local, national and international charities. Within the legal community, Ira Leesfield has made it a priority to award scholarships every year for the past fifteen years.

Through the Leesfield Family Foundation, he has enhanced the lives of so many underprivileged throughout Florida and the World with donations and pledges of over $1 million in funding to numerous charitable organizations and foundations. Additionally, the Foundation endows two perpetual scholarships to minority law students and women law students through the Leesfield/AAJ Law Student Scholarship Program and the Florida Association for Women Lawyers.

MAKING a difference
The Leesfield Family Foundation is a not-for-profit
foundation designed to support organizations that
work to enrich and enhance the lives of the
underprivileged throughout South Florida and the
world. Founded by Ira Leesfield, in conjunction with
trial law firm Leesfield & Partners, the Foundation
has provided funding to charitable organizations
throughout South Florida.
The Leesfield Family Foundation supports a number of additional scholarship funds, among of which include the Harold Foster Memorial Scholarship at Nova Southeastern University and the Dan Pearson Scholarship at the University of Miami School of Law. Since 1994, the Foundation has also endowed the Leesfield/American Association for Justice (AAJ) Student Scholarship to provide assistance to students who exemplify a high commitment to trial advocacy and public justice.
FAWL (Florida Association of Woman Lawyers) is a professional organization dedicated
to promoting the advancement of women in the legal profession. Its membership is
comprised of lawyers, judges, and professionals within the business community.
In conjunction with the Leesfield Family Foundation, Leesfield & Partners, P.A. is credited
as being the first law firm affiliate to fund a FAWL scholarship. This year marks its 15th
consecutive year of participation.
This scholarship is awarded to law students who exhibit the highest commitment to trial
advocacy and public justice. This year marks the eighth anniversary of the endowment
by the Leesfield Family Charitable Foundation to the Miami-Dade Florida Association
of Women Lawyers.

Ira Leesfield, founder of the AAJ (American Association for Justice / formerly known as ATLA)
Law Student Section (formerly ATLA), originally endowed the Leesfield/AAJ Law Student
Scholarship in 1994. It was created in recognition of AAJ Law Student members who exemplify
a high commitment to trial advocacy and public justice. Every year, the award is presented
t the AAJ Annual Convention, thus providing financial support to AAJ law student members
to attend the annual conventions.
"From the time we started our Classroom to Courtroom efforts in 1986, it has been remarkable
to see the accomplishments of AAJ law students as they enter the world of representing
injured clients. I am privileged to be part of this challenging experience," says Ira Leesfield.
The scholarship is available to first and second year AAJ Law Student Members.
The criteria for the scholarship are a statement of financial need; and a 500-word written
request substantiating the applicant's commitment to preserving the civil justice system.
